Why Working for a Greater Democracy is Better than Working for John Kerry or George Bush
Published on April 7, 2004 By Thomas Bryer In Welcome
Greetings. John Kerry is known to say that he is the candidate most likely to beat George Bush and thus he discourages voters from exercising their true passion and voting for Ralph Nader or some other third party candidate if there are to be any this election. I say to this: I do not want to vote for somebody who is the lesser of two evils. I do not want to commit time to a campaign of a man in whom I have no trust and no confidence. I do want to to commit time and passion to a campaign about we, the people. I want to commit time and energy to a campaign that is about revitalizing our political and representative institutions so that we, the people have more power in the process. I want to commit time and money to a campaign that treats us not as consumers but as citizens. Currently that campaign is Democracy For America (http://www.democracyforamerica.com). As a grassroots effort, we can make a difference together. That campaign is also the campaign of Ralp Nader (http://www.votenader.com). We can make a difference. The choice is not just between a sitting President who has abused our trust and a Democrat challenger who is unable to generate trust or passion. The choice includes an option for citizen empowerment. As time goes on I will be reflecting on these and other issues. Thanks for reading.
